At WaterOne, we're committed to being prepared. We plan, drill, and prepare continuously to ensure we have a lot of resiliency and redundancy built into our system and operations. Although this allows us to react quickly in case of emergency, you - the customer - have a responsibility to prepare as well.
During a water emergency, WaterOne's focus has to be on restoring operations. Our mandate is to get water service restored as quickly as possible and keep you informed on our progress. In case water service is cut-off or compromised, customers should be prepared to self-sustain during major disasters.
How can I be ready?
1. Get Prepared
Water is an essential item for your emergency supplies kit. You should store at least a 3-day supply, factoring at least 1 gallon of water per person per day. Children, nursing mothers, and sick people may need more water. In very hot weather, water needs can double.
2. Stay Informed
To stay informed, sign-up for Notify JoCo. Most commonly, WaterOne uses Notify JoCo to contact you about main breaks affecting your water service. In case of disaster, we'll also use Notify JoCo to reach you with information about water safety, water service, and other critical information.
