Be sure to include all zeros!

The meter reading must be reported to WaterOne by the 20th day of the month. All numbers must be read from left to right including the fixed zeros. Failure to submit a monthly meter reading will result in a fine of $100 that will be added to the monthly bill.

If using the meter reading form, one form must be submitted for each meter. All previous readings must appear on the form.

Options for Submitting Readings

1. Email Fire Hydrant Meter Readings a photo of the register with all dials and the meter serial number showing. Your WaterOne account number must accompany the photo in order for the reading to be applied correctly and to avoid the $100 fine for failing to report the reading.

3. Fax this form to Customer Service at 913-895-1817.
4. Call Customer Service at 913-895-1800.

Meter Handling

• Always close the valve on the meter when it is not in use.
• Do not transport the meter in an open area that will allow air to enter the meter. This can cause damage to the internal parts of the meter resulting in the meter registering usage.
• Place the meter in a container where air cannot get to it (plastic bag, box, tub, etc.).

Improper handling of the meter may result in a charge for consumption as measured on the meter and/or denial of future fire hydrant permit requests.

Billing

1. The meter reading must be reported to WaterOne by the 20th day of the month. All numbers must be read from left to right including the fixed zeros. Failure to submit monthly meter reading results, will result in a fine of $100. Continued non-compliance may result in forfeiture of the security deposit, seizure of the meter, or denial of future fire hydrant permit requests.
2. The meter and materials must be returned on or before March 30th of the following year or by the designated expiration date, whichever occurs first.
3. Upon return of the fire hydrant meter, the security deposit will be credited against all amounts due the District including the final bill and amounts charged if damage is found to the meter. Any amount in excess of all amounts due the District will be refunded to the Customer.
