WaterOne has again received top honors for its programs, benefits, and culture which promotes employee health and wellness. The Kansas City Business Journal has recognized WaterOne as a longstanding honoree for the Kansas City’s Healthiest Employers Award, which highlights area businesses that make health and wellness a priority at their companies. This award affirms WaterOne as one of the top organizations in the region for excellence in employee health and wellness.
The awards evaluated WaterOne on criteria such as Culture and Leadership, Strategic Planning, Foundation Components to assess the depth of the wellness program, and Marketing & Communications to evaluate if the program is reaching employees. The award noted many healthy amenities and activities that WaterOne employees can take advantage of, including an expanded walking trail, on-site employee fitness centers, health club memberships reimbursement, access to weight loss management programs, and much more. Employees are also invited to participate in an annual Wellness Week to learn more about maintaining a healthy lifestyle both at work and at home. WaterOne’s health and wellness offerings receive broad participation throughout its workforce.
WaterOne’s strong culture of health and wellness is made possible through the talent, creativity, and commitment of its Human Resources team. WaterOne's wellness program is coordinated by Sr. Human Resources Generalist Katie Peed, who was invited to participate in a panel discussion at the KC Healthiest Employers awards ceremony to share how a focus on wellness can lead to positive change in the lives of employees.
