Biography
Jill Westra is an environmental scientist with a 20+-year career in environmental consulting and corporate sustainability management. Having spent the majority of her career working internationally, Jill relocated to Westwood, Kansas, in 2015. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Environment and Society from the University of Pretoria (RSA) and a Masters of Science in Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Management from the University of Portsmouth (UK). Ms. Westra is currently the Senior Manager of Sustainability for the Boston Beer Company, a role she accepted after a decade of experience working in the consulting engineering, mining and construction sectors. She is an active member of the Manufacturers Alliance (MA) where she sits on the Sustainability Council. Jill is also a member of the Brewers' Association, an American trade group of brewers. She also serves on the volunteer Boards of 2 local non-profit organizations, Climate + Energy Project and Missouri River Relief.
Jill's professional strengths include strategy development, training and program management and she gets great satisfaction out of applying her professional skill set and personal passion for environmental stewardship to her role on the Board of WaterOne. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering with River Relief, C+EP, local animal rescue shelters, and playing music in several local bands. She has a daughter who attends school in the Shawnee Mission East school district.
