Biography
Renee brings to WaterOne extensive research and academic experience in governance. A lifelong Kansan and long-term resident of Johnson County, she has a bachelor’s degree in public administration with an emphasis on research methods from the University of Kansas School of Public Affairs & Administration. She advanced to the school’s doctoral program, where she has completed the master’s program and is finishing her doctoral dissertation in analytic decision-making with a focus on climate change policy.
Renee is passionate about environmental management, social justice, public health, and use of evidence to guide public policy. Above all, Renee enjoys empowering students and community members alike, with civics knowledge and skills to engage with governance. She has taught at KU Edwards campus and served on KU’s research ethics board, hiring committees, and undergraduate research evaluation panels. She is published in peer-reviewed journals and has won awards for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
