Retail Consumption Charges
 

*The Block 1 rates are charged for use up to and including 125% of the average winter consumption (AWC). Water is billed at Block 2 rates for all water used in excess of 125%. Each billing period stands on its own with respect to Block 2 charges.

Average Winter Consumption (AWC) defined:

The AWC is updated each year effective with the May billings, based on the most immediate preceding January - April billing periods.  For calculation of water bills, each customer will be given the benefit of whichever AWC Base is HIGHER:  1) The individual customer's own ACTUAL AWC BASE; or 2) The DEFAULT AWC Base as defined below.

For Single-Family customers, the DEFAULT AWC is equal to 200 Gallons Per Day for any customer, regardless of meter size.

For all NON-Single-Family customers (Multi-Family and Commercial accounts), the DEFAULT AWC is equal to the Average of all customers with the same meter size in the customer's same class.
