*The Block 1 rates are charged for use
up to and including 125% of the average
winter consumption (AWC). Water is
billed at Block 2 rates for all water
used in excess of 125%. Each billing
period stands on its own with respect to
Block 2 charges.
Average Winter
Consumption (AWC) defined:
The AWC is updated
each year effective with May billings.
For calculation of water bills, each
customer will be given the benefit of
whichever AWC is HIGHER: 1) The
individual customer's own ACTUAL AWC
based on the most immediate preceding
January - April billing periods; or 2)
The DEFAULT AWC as defined below.
For Single-Family customers,
the DEFAULT AWC is calculated based
on the 5-year average of all
Single-Family individual customer
AWCs, regardless of meter size.
For all NON-Single-Family
customers (Multi-Family and
Commercial accounts), the DEFAULT
AWC is calculated based on the
5-year average of individual
customer AWCs for all customers with
the same meter size and customer
class.
