WaterOne honored 52 employees at a service awards program on March 8, 2002. Special recognition was given to long-term employees with 25 years or more of service. Those honored were: Lyman Peckman, Prairie Village, KS, and Bob Abernathy, Shawnee Mission, KS -- 40-year recipients; Larry Hackathorn, Kansas City, KS -- 35-year recipient; John Parks, Shawnee Mission, KS, and Jim Carl, Shawnee Mission, KS -- 30 year recipients; Rick Haney, Kansas City, KS -- 25 year recipient. Employees receiving 20 year awards were: Mike Yager, Belton, MO; Wendell Briand, Olathe, KS; Tanya Akin, Overland Park, KS; Mark Hayes, Gardner, KS; and Sharon Schulze, Overland Park, KS. An additional 41 employees were recognized for their service that included 15-year, 10-year and 5-year awards.
