Boil Order Issued
April 18, 2002

Due to a large water main break at 67th & Antioch, a BOIL WATER ORDER has been issued for customers of Water District No. 1 of Johnson County in the area bounded by:

  • 87th Street
  • State Line
  • Johnson County Line (47th Street)
  • Switzer Road

This order is being issued as a precautionary measure. Because of the loss of water pressure, the Water District can’t assure the safety of the water until testing is done.  Residential and commercial customers in this area are advised to boil their water for a minimum of one minute before consumption or use bottled water for drinking until further notice.  Unboiled water is safe for bathing.  Customers will be notified when they can return to using their normal water supply.  At this time it is anticipated the boil water order could be lifted as early as Friday a.m, April 19.

Customers who would like more information about this situation should call Customer Service at 913-895-1800. For more information you may also check our website at www.waterone.org.
