WaterOne Receives Green Award for Second Year in a Row

Lenexa, KS.  WaterOne received the Johnson County Green Business Award from the Johnson County Solid Waste Management Committee for a second year in a row. The award was given to WaterOne for its continued firm commitment to green initiatives. 

WaterOne is one of 10 businesses in the county to achieve the highest level of recognition -- the Emerald level.  The utility has worked hard and taken a strong stance in environmental stewardship by carefully tracking, documenting and demonstrating sustainability in a variety of areas including energy, treatment, recycling, and waste management.     

The award presentation was held at the Board of County Commissioners Meeting on Thursday, June 16, 2011.  Announcing the awards was Chris Evans Hand of the Johnson County Solid Waste Management Committee. Ed Eilert, Board of Commissioners Chairman, congratulated all the award recipients with a warm handshake.  Accepting the award for WaterOne was Stacy Clark, Fleet Services Manager and WaterOne Green Committee member.
