WaterOne Board Appoints New Member The Governing Board of WaterOne has announced the appointment of Brenda Cherpitel, a resident of Overland Park, Kansas, to fill Board position # 5. Cherpitel will be sworn in on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at the monthly WaterOne Board meeting. Cherpitel’s appointment to the Board fills the unexpired term of Richard (Dick) Weisser, who passed away on March 15, 2007. Cherpitel’s appointment will run through April 30, 2009. Thirty-two applications for the position were received and evaluated by WaterOne's Board and six finalists were interviewed for the position. Cherpitel has extensive marketing and communications, non profit and entrepreneurial business experience and served in various marketing capacities for Hallmark Cards Incorporated during her 20-year career there. She is currently self-employed as a consultant. Cherpitel is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Secondary Education, Speech and Dramatic Arts. She and her husband, Dean, have two children.
