March 20, 2007 WaterOne is saddened to report that long-time WaterOne Board member and former Water Board Chairman, Richard (Dick) Weisser, P. E., passed away on March 15, 2007. During his 14 years on the WaterOne Board, Weisser demonstrated a strong commitment to the utility and to the water industry. Throughout his years as a member of the WaterOne Board, Weisser served as Board Chairman; Chairman of the Operations Committee; and Chairman of the Administrative Committee. He also served as a member of the Finance, Governmental Relations, and Retirement Committees. Weisser was a tireless ambassador for the water utility through his active involvement in numerous civic clubs, Chambers of Commerce, community organizations, and professional organizations. He also served on various water related boards and agencies throughout the state. Weisser was re-elected to the WaterOne Board in April, 2005. His term would have expired on April 30, 2009. A memorial service will be held on March 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas.
