July 7, 2006 ‘Water Watch’ Lifted for Northeast Johnson County (KS) A “Water Watch’ has been lifted for WaterOne customers in northeast Johnson County. The ‘Water Watch’ that has been in effect since June 19, 2006, asked for voluntary restrictions on outdoor watering. Temporary repairs have been completed on a 30” transmission main that serves the area. The main was damaged last month at a commercial construction site near Turkey Creek. Permanent repairs will not be made until later this fall when watering demands decrease. Providing there are no further repairs to the main required this summer, customers living in the ‘Water Watch’ area may resume normal outdoor watering and irrigation. This area includes customers north of 87th Street, from I-35 east to State Line Road. There are no watering restrictions currently in place throughout any of WaterOne’s service area, and normal operating procedures have fully resumed. WaterOne appreciates the assistance they received from golf courses and irrigation owners in the ‘Water Watch’ area while voluntary restrictions were in effect.
