Northeast Johnson County
Still Under a
Water Watch

The northeast section of WaterOne’s service area is still under a voluntary Water Watch.  Water customers north of 87th Street and east of I-35 to State Line Road are asked to voluntary reduce lawn irrigation and outdoor watering.  Approximately 30,000 households in northeast Johnson County are affected.

The Water Watch will remain in effect for the next 1-2 weeks while repairs are completed on a large transmission main that was damaged earlier this month at a commercial construction site near Turkey Creek.  Severe ground shifting at the site appears to have contributed to the break.

A notice was recently mailed to all owners of in-ground irrigation systems in the Water Watch area advising them of the voluntary restrictions.  If customers have questions about lawn irrigation and watering, they may contact the utility’s Conservation Services Department at (913) 895-5761.
