The Governing Board of Water District No. 1 of Johnson County elected a new Chairman and Vice-Chairman at its May 10 Board Meeting.  Terry Frederick was elected Board Chairman and Rob Olson Vice-Chairman for 2005-2007.

Olson was elected to the Board in 1995 and has served as Chairman of its Legislative Affairs Committee since 2003.  He has also served as a member of the Administrative and Finance Committees.

Frederick is an Overland Park resident and is employed by Sprint as Director - State & Local Corporate Tax.  Olson is a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, District 26, and resides in Olathe.

Water Board members are elected to 4 year terms. Board Members Dick Weisser, Bob Reese and Jim Vader were recently reelected to the Board for the 2005-2009 term, and were administered the Oath of Office at the May 10 Water Board Meeting.
