WaterOne Lab Personnel Repeats Perfect
Score on EPA Performance Evaluation
WaterOne Lab employees
recently received a perfect score on an EPA performance evaluation.
WaterOne’s Laboratory is accredited by the Kansas Department of Health &
Environment’s Laboratory Inspection Program under the guidelines of the
National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference. Every six
months WaterOne’s Lab staff is required to perform a round of testing to
prove their capabilities. This is augmented by an on-site examination by a
State inspector, and at times an EPA inspector, who make regular visits to
WaterOne’s Laboratory Services section to review every detail of the
Laboratory’s operations.
WaterOne chemists, Brent Fulton and Brook Welner, and microbiologist
Cheryl Besch were each given the performance evaluation on 53 different
water quality parameters. The team has consistently received perfect
scores on each of the tests over the years.
Over 1,400 water samples are taken each month – and analyzed in the
Laboratory – to ensure that the water delivered to WaterOne customers
meets, or is superior, to all state and federal standards for safe
drinking water.
