WaterOne to Dismantle Water Tanks

WaterOne is scheduled to have four water tanks that are no longer in service dismantled.   Work will begin later this year or spring of 2004.  The tanks are located at: 

9100 Marshall Drive, Lenexa
83^rd Street and K-7 Highway, Lenexa
11307 W. 70^th Street, Shawnee,
207th Street ^&  Pflumm, Bucyrus.

These tanks are no longer needed due to improvements that have been made throughout the distribution system in recent years that have resulted in higher system pressures.  

Dismantling of the tanks will take approximately one week at each location, weather permitting, and disruptions to the areas are expected to be minimal.  No road closures are expected, although traffic could be delayed as heavy equipment enters and leaves the work sites.  Work areas will remain secured throughout the project.

The Contractor on this project is Iseler Demolition, Inc. of Romeo, MI.  The dismantled tanks will be delivered to a steel foundry to be recycled.
