Director of Production at WaterOne Receives
Prestigious Lenexa, KS. Tom Schrempp, Director of Production, WaterOne, was awarded the 2011 George Warren Fuller Award from the Kansas Section of the American Water Works Association (KsAWWA) at their annual conference in Topeka, KS. The George Warren Fuller Award is presented annually by the American Water Works Association to the sections' respective selected members for their distinguished service to the water supply field in commemoration of sound engineering skill, brilliant diplomatic talent, and the constructive leadership which characterized the life of George Warren Fuller, a pioneer in the drinking water industry. Schrempp has more than 30 years engineering/water related experience including one year with a state health department, six and a half years with a consulting engineering firm and eight years working with municipal governments. Schrempp is responsible for all aspects of WaterOne’s water production from the utility’s source, treatment, pumping and storage facilities. He has been with the utility for more than 20 years and has previously held the position of Assistant Director of Operations/Production. Schrempp served four years as Board Trustee for AWWA, as well as Vice Chair/Chair/Past-Chair and Research Committee Chair. He has been very active on numerous professional organizations such as MO-ARK, Kansas River Alliance, Missouri River Public Water Supply Association, Kansas River Water Assurance District and MO River Defense Fund. Additionally, Schrempp has co-authored multiple papers and made several presentations at AWWA Conferences and at the KU Environmental Engineering Conference. He has served on multiple Project Advisory Committees for the Water Research Foundation.
