Relocation of Existing Facilities

  • Proposed construction for new development may be in conflict with existing WaterOne mains, fire hydrants, or other facilities. Conflicts requiring relocation of WaterOne facilities may include:
  • *Direct physical conflict with WaterOne facilities.

*Indirect conflict where the proposed construction places other facilities.  For example, storm sewers so close to or on top of WaterOne facilities that it jeopardizes WaterOne’s ability to maintain, repair or operate its facilities in a safe manner.

*Indirect conflict where the proposed construction effectively precludes

*WaterOne from accessing its facilities for maintenance, repair or operation.

*Indirect conflict where grading cuts or fills over WaterOne facilities resulting in cover over the facilities to be less than 3’ or more than 5’ feet.

  • Situations where potential conflicts occur will be identified during design and forwarded to the Lead Relocation Engineer for final determination. The necessity for relocations of existing water facilities and will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
  • Developer may be required to enter into an additional Agreement (Memo Contract) with WaterOne to cover the costs of relocating existing facilities to accommodate the proposed construction.
