Refusal to Allow Individual Service Connections WaterOne may refuse to issue a new service permit wherever the existing distribution system capacity is inadequate to serve the applicant’s premises without potentially creating or intensifying conditions which may adversely affect the safety or health of the applicant or other existing customers. The adequacy of the existing distribution system to serve new customers will be determined by our engineering analysis and/or testing. The engineering analysis and/or testing will be based on the maximum flow capacity of the meter proposed. If the analysis and/or test confirms that 30 p.s.i. or greater water pressure at the water main will be sustained under maximum hour system demand conditions at the proposed point of connection and all points in the distribution system affected by the new connection, a new service permit will be issued. When the analysis and/or test confirms that 30 pounds per square inch (p.s.i.) minimum pressure cannot be sustained, WaterOne will not issue the new service permit. WaterOne may refuse to allow the enlargement of an existing service connection, or the installation of a water meter of a greater capacity than an existing meter, if it is determined by WaterOne that 30 p.s.i. or greater water pressure cannot be maintained. |
