Commercial New Service - Plan Review and Approval

 

PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING TO NEDRA LOCKE, SUPERVISOR DISTRIBUTION WATER QUALITY AND NEW SERVICE:

    1. Legal description and address of property to be served.
    2. Contact name, company name, address, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail address for the following:
    · Owner
    · Architect
    · Engineer
    · General Contractor
    · Plumber
    · Fire Sprinkler Contractor
    3.
    One full set of plans which include the following:

  • Grading plan

  • Civil site plan including building footprint, property lines and public street intersections
  • Site Utility plan
  • MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) plan including fire protection and lawn irrigation plans
  • Landscape plan

4. The Site Utility Plan submitted for review and approval comments. The plan must show domestic and fireline connections and include the following information:

  • Service Connection Size(s)

  • Proposed Meter Size(s)

  • Proposed location of new service and meter pit(s) or vault(s), with dimensions referencing the new service and meter pit or vault to the following:
     

  • the water main

  • fire protection main

  • backflow preventer vault or above ground enclosure

  • curbs

  • sidewalks

  • sewers

  • manholes

  • catchbasins

  • other utilities

  • structures, and any other existing or proposed improvements or objects in the vicinity of the proposed new service and meter pit or vault.

  • 5. Maximum continuous and the maximum intermittent (peak) flow rates, in gallons per minute, expected for each domestic water service.

    Plans should be submitted to our office a minimum of 22 working days prior to anticipated new service issuance date to allow for review and approval.

    Note:

    · Written authorization must be received from the property owner authorizing the general contractor or subcontractor to apply for the new service permit in the owner’s name (commercial applications only).

    · New Service Permits will not be issued on newly constructed mains until the new water main has been placed in service by WaterOne.

    · New service permits will not be issued until the Distribution Water Quality & New Service Department has received the signed Project Letter document regarding compliance with Cross Connection Control requirements from the Owner.

    · Applicant, either property owner or contractor, is responsible for meter pit after installation and until final grade inspection is approved by WaterOne.
