Public Hearing on 2010 Budget and Water Rates
A public hearing on the proposed budget was held in conjunction with the utility’s monthly Board meeting.  An overall rate increase of 4.9% is required in 2010 to support the proposed budget. This increase, which would be effective January 1, 2010, translates into an average increase of $1.65 per month on a typical residential customer’s water bill. The increase is needed to fund infrastructure replacements, capital projects, as well as, to meet operating expenses.  A final vote on the proposed budget, and 2010 rates and charges needed to support it, is scheduled for December 8, 2009 at the Board’s monthly meeting.

Revisions to Personnel Policy
The Board approved revisions to the Personnel Manual, effective January 1, 2010.

Revisions to Board Policy No. 16
The Board approved revisions to Board Policy No. 16 which addresses budgeting requirements for debt service coverage.

 Missouri River Bed Degradation Stakeholder Agreements
The Board approved a resolution for participation in the Missouri River Bed Degradation, Missouri and Kansas, Feasibility Study.  The Board further authorizes the GM to approve minor modifications to the Stakeholder Contribution Agreement and Stakeholder Cooperative Agreement.
