The following
action was taken at the Board Meeting on March 11, 2008.
Disposition of
Uncommitted Funds
The Board directed staff to reserve $8,800,000 in the Water System
General Fund to be allocated as follows:
- $700,000 to increase the
Negative Cash Flow Reserve from $6.5 million to $7.2 million
- $1,500,000 to replenish
funds to the Transmission and Distribution Reserve
- $2,750,000 to increase
the Rate Stabilization Reserve from $3,250,000 to $6,000,000, the
maximum level approved by the Board
- $3,850,000 to Master Plan
Reserves for partial funding of Phase V & Other Master Plan Projects
Award of Contract:
Missouri River Presedimentation Basin Repairs
The Board awarded the contract for the Missouri River Presedimentation
Basin Repairs to Blaze Mechanical, the lowest, qualified, responsible
and responsive bidder, in the amount of $38,322.
Award of Contract: 2008 -2010 Wellfield Testing and Treatment
The Board approved a contract for the 2008-2010 Wellfield Testing and
Treatment based upon estimated quantities to Douglas Pump Service, Inc.,
the lowest, qualified, responsible and responsive bidder and authorized
funding for 2008 wellfield maintenance as provided in the current budget
with funding for 2009 and 2010 wellfield maintenance subject to annual O
& M appropriations for each respective year.
Award of Contract:
Missouri River Presedimentation Basin Re-Roof
The Board awarded the contract for the Missouri River
Presedimentation Basin Re-Roof to J.B. Turner and Sons Roofing & Sheet
Metal, the lowest, qualified, responsible and responsive bidder, in the
amount of $124,116.00.
Award of Contract:
Monofill No. 8
The Board rescinded the award for the Monofill No. 8 to Dirt Wurx
Excavating due to their inability to secure required bonds and instead
awarded the contract to Larkin Excavating, Inc., the lowest, qualified,
responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $1,512,285.14.
Change Order:
Facility 3 (Phase V-A) Water Treatment Plant
The Board approved a change order for Facility 3 (Phase V-A) Water
Treatment Plant, for an increase in the contract in the amount of
$146,284.39 with Grimm Construction Company, Inc.
