The following action was taken at the Board Meeting on October 9, 2007


Cost of Service (COS) Study

The Board selected Red Oak Consulting as their Rate Consultant to perform a COS Study related to water rates and system development charges for retail and wholesale customers.  The proposal submitted by Red Oak Consulting is not to exceed the amount of $86,754.

Amendment 29

The Board approved Amendment 29 to the Black & Veatch Four-Year Capital Improvements Program and General Engineering Services Agreement for Project MP-07013 of the Master Plan Update.  The estimated cost to perform these services is $106,000 and the total combined billing limit would be increased by this amount.

Amendment 30

The Board approved Amendment 30 to the Black & Veatch Four-Year Capital Improvements Program and General Engineering Services Agreement for Project MP-07014, Phase I of a Transmission Main Alignment Corridor, Pumping Station and Reservoir Site, and Elevated Tank Site Study.  The estimated cost to perform these services is $298,000 and the total combined billing limit would be increased by this amount.

Change Order

The Board approved a change order for Facility 1 Miscellaneous Improvements and the Replacement of Elevated Tank Control Valves, for an increase in the contract amount of $69,180.00 with Pyramid Excavation, Inc.  

Telephone System


The Board authorized the General Manager to accept a quote from Alexander Open System (AOS) in an amount not to exceed $345,378.88 for the purchase, installation and support of a Cisco IP Telephony system.

Acquisition of Easement

The Board adopted a resolution authorizing access to surveying and testing on private property owned by Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway near 43rd Street and K-7 Highway for Project MP-04004, a 12-inch distribution main along K-7 Highway from 47th Street to 43rd Street.
