The following action was taken at the Board Meeting on July 10, 2007

Approve closing of Proj. 218, Admin. Headquarters & Service Center
The Board approved the closing of Proj. 218,  Administrative Headquarters & Service Center since there are no remaining funds.

Award of Contract for Proj. MP-05007– 5 MG Reservoir, 211^th Pumping Station
The Board awarded the contract for Phase II, 211^th Street Pumping Station & Reservoir to Foley Company, the lowest, qualified, responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $5,148,000.

The Board also approved an amendment to the Black & Veatch Four Year Capital Improvements Program and General Engineering Services Agreement for the 5 MG Reservoir, 211^th Street Pumping Station.  The estimated cost to perform these services is $420,000.

Award of Contracts for Proj.’s MP-05322 (Contract 2) and MP-05323 (Contract 3)
The Board awarded the contract for a 60” Transmission Main from 118^th St. & Parallel Parkway to the Kansas River Tunnel and from the Tunnel to 77^th Street and K7 Pumping Station and Reservoir to Garney Companies, Inc., the lowest, qualified, responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $33,383,425.

The Board also approved an amendment to the Black & Veatch Four Year Capital Improvements Program and General Engineering Services Agreement to perform Construction Phase Services and Residential Services for Contracts 2 and 3.   The estimated cost to perform these services is $2,054,000.00.

Award of Contract for Proj. MP-05321 (Contract 1) and MP-06009d
The Board awarded a contract for a 60” Transmission Main from the Water Treatment Plant Near Sam Clark Lane along 115^th Street to 118^th Street and Parallel Parkway and Raw Water Transmission Main, Piping and Conduit and Sections from the Collector Wells to the Water Treatment Plan near Sam Clark Lane, to BRB Contractors, Inc., the lowest, qualified, responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $20,544,155.28.

The Board also approved an amendment to the Black & Veatch Four Year Capital Improvements Program and General Engineering Services Agreement to perform Construction Phase Services and Residential Services for this contract.   The estimated cost to perform these services is $1,648,000.00.

Award of Contract for Proj. MP-07011, Collector Well No. 1- Pump House
The Board awarded the contract for a Collector Well No. 1 Pump House, Facility 3, based on recommendations by Staff, Black & Veatch to Foley Company, the lowest, qualified, responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $5,798,000.

The Board also approved an amendment to the Black & Veatch Four Year Capital Improvements Program and General Engineering Services Agreement to perform Construction Phase Services and Residential Services for this contract.   The estimated cost to perform these services is $620,000.00.

Change Order to Proj. MP-05011, Kansas River Jetty Improvements
The Board approved a Change Order for the Kansas River Jetty Improvements for a decrease in the Contract amount of $160,837.38 with Kissick Construction.

Award of Contract for Job No. AC-06128 (Partial)
The Board awarded the contract (partial) for Paint Electrical Substations, to Northeast Painting Company, the lowest, qualified, responsible and responsive bidder, in the amount of $70,715.00.

Acquisition of Real Property
The Board authorized the purchase of 1.66 acres of real property located in Wyandotte County, Kansas from Lakeco, LLC, a limited liability company, in the amount of $27,500.00.

Approve Litigation
The Board authorized General Counsel to initiate legal action against parties resulting in damage to a 30” main near Interstate 35 and Foxridge Dr.; damage to a 42” main near 87^th St. & Renner Blvd. and: denial of insurance coverage on a claim for lighting damage to the O&M building.
