The following
action was taken at the Board Meeting on December 12, 2006
2007 Budget Approved
The Board adopted the 2007 Budget with a 5.1% rate increase to service
and commodity charges for water used on or after January 1, 2007.
Issuance of 2007 Bonds
The Board authorized and directed Staff to proceed working with the
necessary consultants to perform activities and prepare documents
required to issue Series 2007 Water Revenue Bonds for the purpose of
making certain Phase V Water System Improvements.
Rate
Stabilization Reserves
The Board directed Staff to establish a Rate Stabilization Reserve
effective immediately; and to adopt a policy to govern the Rate
Stabilization Reserve, effective January 10, 2007.
System
Development Fund
The Board directed Staff to reserve $1,300,000 from the System
Development Fund to the Master Plan Phase V Reserves effective.
Amendment to
Board Policy
The Board approved an
amendment to Board Policy No. 27 – Consultant Review, to include Defined
Benefit Plan Actuary to the list of Consultants.
Water Tower
Antennae Lease
The Board approved a Water Tower Antennae Lease with Cricket
Communications for the Delmar Elevated Water Tank.
Acquisition of
Pipeline
The Board adopted a resolution authorizing acquisition of a necessary
easement by Eminent Domain for Project MX-04308, 8-inch distribution
main for Lenexa City Center East located at 89th Street East
of Renner Boulevard.
Award of
Contract
The Board authorized the General Manager to negotiate and execute the
final terms of a contract for Project TD-05074, Condition Assessment and
Inspection Services of Pre-stressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe for the
60-inch/66-inch Missouri River Settled Water Main and 36-inch Woodson
Supply Transmission Main to the lowest qualified, responsible and
responsive bidder, Pure Technologies, Inc., in an amount not-to-exceed
$310,000.
Further, the Board
authorized the General Manager to negotiate and execute the final terms
of a contract with Pressure Pipe Inspection Company for inspection of
approximately four miles of 30-inch Pre-stressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe
along Quivira Road and College Boulevard for an amount not-to-exceed
$130,000.00.
