Projects 264 and 265

The Board adopted a resolution authorizing acquisition of easements by Eminent Domain for Project 264—a 20” & 36” transmission main along 199^th Street from Renner Road east to the Lackman Elevated Tank, and Project 265—a 12” distribution main on 207^th Street, from approximately Woodland Road east to Renner Boulevard and along Renner Boulevard north to 199^th Street.

 Former Rural Water District Employee Lawsuit

The Board authorized the Chairman to execute a Resolution Agreement and authorized a total payment of $40,000 to seven plaintiffs in exchange for their dismissal of an ongoing lawsuit.  Collectively, the plaintiffs had sought an award of  $270,000 for claimed retroactive retirement benefits.  The lawsuit was settled to avoid continuing litigation.  While the Board maintains the case was without merit and no retroactive retirement benefits are due the plaintiffs, it would have cost more to continue to defend the case than the amount of the settlement.
